Brookhaven

Historic Brookhaven is one of Atlanta’s most distinctive established neighborhoods, known for gracious homes, mature tree-lined streets, architectural character, and a strong connection to the Capital City Country Club. The neighborhood was intentionally planned around a golf course beginning in the early 1900s, making it one of Georgia’s earliest—and possibly the Southeast’s earliest—golf-course communities.

Brookhaven, Georgia

Historic Brookhaven is one of Atlanta’s most distinctive established neighborhoods, known for gracious homes, mature tree-lined streets, architectural character, and a strong connection to the Capital City Country Club. The neighborhood was intentionally planned around a golf course beginning in the early 1900s, making it one of Georgia’s earliest—and possibly the Southeast’s earliest—golf-course communities.

The neighborhood’s historic core developed primarily from the 1910s through the early 1940s, with homes designed by prominent Atlanta architects in styles including Colonial Revival, Georgian Revival, and Tudor Revival. Many properties sit on large lots with deep setbacks, mature landscaping, and a sense of privacy that is increasingly difficult to find so close to Atlanta.

At the center is Capital City Country Club, whose historic golf course and clubhouse remain an important defining feature of the neighborhood. The district was placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1986, recognizing its architectural and historical significance.

Today, Historic Brookhaven offers a particularly appealing combination of classic Atlanta character and convenient intown living. Residents are close to Buckhead, Lenox Square, Peachtree Road, Brookhaven’s restaurants and shops, and numerous parks and recreational amenities.

The Historic Brookhaven lifestyle in a nutshell:
Timeless architecture. Tree-canopied streets. Estate-sized lots. Golf-course living. Intown convenience. A neighborhood with history and a strong sense of place.

Brookhaven is best known for its classic Atlanta elegance with a quiet, residential feel.
